Know Your Insurance–and Make It Your Own!
Read the fine print before you sign!
And how often do you ignore that advice, and not just the fine print. Too often when we purchase something, we race through the agreement or text rather than actually reading it.
In addition to reading the policy, you’ll want to make sure your insurance coverage works for you.
Here is what to look for when you purchase your policy from our agency:
Read your policy coverage pages. These are the first 1-3 pages of the entire policy.
Make an inventory of all your personal, business documents as well as your household and business contents. Include and mark any collectible items for your inventory. Many people forget to include these and other valuable items. Some special items can be added by an endorsement either individually or as a group.
Look around your home, take pictures of your valuables and other items. Visual evidence and receipts for purchases are important when establishing the amount of coverage and when making a claim.
Make notes of any repairs needed and replacements or upgrades. Don’t wait for your insurance company to notify you to take care of things, perhaps with the threat of cancellation. Insurance companies are using drones and visual inspections to assess how well your property is being maintained.
You don't need to do any of this alone!
When you purchase your policies through our agency, we walk you through this. First, as a required part of the underwriting process before the policy is issued. Thereafter, any time when you have questions or concerns.
